Personalised storybooks: the paper half of a screen-free toolkit
A screen-free story routine doesn't have to be audio-only. Personalised storybooks, picture books where your child's name and world are woven into the pages, give the same no-screen, no-feed wind-down on paper.
Printed personalised storybooks have been around for years (a whole category of publishers will set your child's name into the title and the plot) and they belong in any screen-free toolkit. A book asks nothing of a screen at bedtime, and it repeats as happily as a favourite card.
